more information about Topanga
Where is Topanga?
The locals will tell you that the people and the wildlife that share the Topanga Canyon watershed and wildlife corridor bisected by State Highway 27 are tolerant, relaxed, and self-reliant. Dogs own the roads and cavort with coyotes in the chaparral. Bobcats boldly saunter through backyards. After dark, deer bound over fences and feast on succulent flowers, while raccoons search garbage cans for hand-me-downs and beg at kitchen doors for table scraps. Hawks noisily circle above during the day and at night an owl will call mournfully from a high perch then silently vanish. The humans in the canyon notice these things occurring in their shared environment, and, like tolerant roommates, go about their business.
